Overview
A specialist legal and risk management firm is seeking a solicitor to join its commercial litigation team. The firm works closely with clients across sectors such as insurance, logistics, retail, and health & safety, providing commercially focused dispute resolution and regulatory advice.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of commercial and civil litigation matters, including contractual disputes, negligence claims, and regulatory investigations
Advise clients on risk, liability, and dispute resolution strategy from pre-action through to trial
Draft pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements
Represent clients in proceedings before the County Court and the High Court of Justice
Handle matters involving regulatory bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other enforcement authorities
Engage in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and negotiation
Work closely with internal risk and compliance teams to provide holistic client solutions
Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, practical legal advice
Candidate Profile
Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
Typically 2–5+ years’ post-qualification experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution, or regulatory law
Experience handling a broad range of civil and commercial disputes
Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation process
Strong drafting, analytical, and case management skills
Commercially minded with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients
Experience in regulatory or health & safety matters is advantageous but not essential
